Welcome to the World, Our Beautiful New Baby!

Oh, hooray!!!!!!! Colin and I are OVERJOYED to announce the birth of our healthy, happy baby boy! Little baby Devi was born this week after 28.5 hours of labor (the first 18 of which were unmedicated– oh my), and emerged with a lush head of dark hair that the doctor promptly styled into a curled cowlick.

At birth, Devi weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and measured 20.5 inches long. Pretty petite for the [...Read More!]

Kayaking: A Great Way to Tour a River City Like Boston!

Cities with rivers are better. Even more superior is a city with a river AND ocean combo. That delicious, watery duo is a major reason Boston is #1 on my list of places around the world to live. And what better way to experience this perk of a river-licious city than to take a kayak tour?

Before New England’s autumn got too crispy cold, Colin and I met up with our friends, [...Read More!]

The #1 Hotel in the World: Best Hawaii Babymoon Ever

Ever heard of a “Babymoon?” They’re all the rage now, mammacita. The idea is that pregnancy is the last time for a while that a couple can relax and enjoy luxury without juggling diapers, milk situations, and general baby mayhem… so they should vacation it up!

But where would we choose to Babymoon? The answer was clear the moment we booked our plane tickets for my dear friend Meg‘s wedding on Hawaii’s [...Read More!]

Delicious Video: Sunset Dinner at a Hawaii Resort

It was a five course dinner on the Big Island of Hawaii, relished as the sun set over the ocean and our soon-to-be-son kicked my belly from the inside. The food was so good that I couldn’t resist making my first ever video for this site. Do click it, and enjoy my cheesy narration!

So what do you think? What would have been your favorite part of the meal (taste-wise or visually)? [...Read More!]

We Can Finally Reveal the Happy News: I'm Pregnant!

YAY! After three long months of awkwardly hiding my nausea, fatigue, and increasingly poofy waistline, my husband Colin and I can finally announce: we are expecting our first baby this November… and we are so excited!!!!

As we walked through Boston’s Lilac Sunday in the Arnold Arboretum (aren’t these flower photos gorgeous?) with our mothers on Mothers’ Day, I thought back with a chuckle to 2010 when I was traveling [...Read More!]

Unexpected International Flair in Newport, Rhode Island

When you think “Rhode Island,” do you think “international flair?” Well, I didn’t either… until our recent Newport trip brought the worldly elements of the city into glorious focus! Leap along with me to see.

Newport is famous for its unbelievably opulent cliff-side mansions. One of our favorites was Marble House, pictured above, which is a 50-room mansion built by the Vanderbilt family in 1892 that features 500,000 cubic feet of marble. [...Read More!]

Where to Stay in Newport, RI to Feel Like Royalty

There are some vacations from which you need a vacation, and our whirlwind trip to India proved one of them. We returned to America from New Delhi jetlagged, dizzy, and greeted by piles of grading.

“We’ve got to go somewhere relaxing, close, and awesome this long weekend,” I wailed to my husband. “Somewhere we can eat like beasts, sleep like bears, and sightsee pretty things at a relaxed pace. BUT WHERE?”

Twitter to [...Read More!]

Jewish Wedding Traditions in Joyful and Romantic Photos

Today marks the three month anniversary of our epic wedding (married life has been lovely so far, thanks for asking!), so let us commemorate it with a final wedding article: an entertaining yet educational piece using the final photos from our nuptials to illustrate the glorious traditions of a Jewish wedding.

The Ketubah is the sacred Jewish marriage contract, and Colin and I signed it in an intimate room right before the actual wedding ceremony. A Ketubah [...Read More!]

Amazing Fall Foliage in Rainbow New England Glory of NH

A person is a lucky duck to have a birthday in October and live in New England. It’s as if the whole scene is having a rainbow confetti party in your honor!

This weekend I celebrated my thirty-first birthday in a sweet, rural, rented lake house in New Hampshire with my husband, his burly male friends, and a whole bunch of BBQ meat.

A fire crackled constantly in brick fireplace, we mushed together [...Read More!]
