3 Stunning Lake Sunsets in 3 New Hampshire Days

The sunset in New Hampshire was a work of art.
The sunsets in New Hampshire were works of art.

Over 18,000 people have read my article on beautiful fall foliage of New Hampshire, and now you have a chance to see the lovely lake from that article in another season! Last week I voyaged back to that land of no internet and stunning scenery, this time in mid-summer.

The pink splattered on the water by the boats.

Would this New Hampshire pond, nestled behind sprawling Silver Lake just south of the White Mountains, be as beautiful without the autumn leaves? Never fear! The sky more than compensated for the monotone trees with exploding rainbow sunsets each night. (No offense for calling you “monotone,” trees! Your emerald is very dashing.)

With a new day, the clouds muscled up for another show.

Amid eating like a buffalo and sleeping like a kitten (the rights of every pregnant woman), I photographed three different New Hampshire lake sunsets for you. Same lake, different cloud dances. Enjoy!

Another day, another sunset.
Gold was the main feature in the next evening’s sunset.
The whole lake turned pink.
Then the whole lake turned pink, like a cool summer lemonade.
I love how creamy the clouds look floating in the lake.
Day again! I love how creamy the clouds look floating in the lake.
The sunset began subtly...

Then cotton candy sky plopped into the lake!

As night set in, our friends remained on the raft, content.

I hope your eyes had a nice feast. So have you frolicked around New Hampshire, yourself? Are you a sunset fan, or more of a daytime or sunrise diva? Do tell.

The color you were able to capture in these pics are stunning and I really like how they are taken from the same vantage point. It is nice to see the change of days from the same location.

Gorgeous pics, Lillie! Sad to say but where I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, we actually rarely get to see a sunset except this time of year - July to October. The rest of the year the sun seems completely obliterated by clouds and usually rain, rain, rain.... I would love to see beautiful sunsets like these more often.

Wonderful photos, and such sharpness and colours.

Just finished 12 months backpacking & travelling and have some wonderful photos, but those sunsets are really great.

And don't worry about the Internet withdrawals, I completely know what you mean :)

Totally agree! It's a terrible thing to admit to, but not being able to "plug in and go" is quite a shocker to a travel blogger! Like everything else, though, I guess it makes us more appreciate of the good old internet once we are able to access it again!
