Quebec City is a Perfect Vacation…

It’s freezing rain in Boston right now, and I’m seized with an urge to write a new article about the best place our family traveled last year: Quebec City, Canada during the summer! In this article, I’ve compiled 31 of my most beautiful photos from Old Quebec for your escapist pleasure.

Charming Flowers in Summer

Quebec City is a destination that epitomizes the word “charming.” It is worth at least three days of unstructured wandering and restaurant-hopping through its cobblestoned streets, should you be wise enough to schedule a visit.

Flowers, Frontenac, Food, and Fun!

In these photos, you’ll see the four “Fs”. First, flowers abound in the city in summer, spilling out of window boxes in exuberant rainbow waterfalls. My all-time favorite Quebec flower photo is below, captured after I asked my husband one too many times to pose for me. Bwhaha! (He would have looked even more epic if we’d made a flower crown of those orange things.)

Quebec City Restaurants: Incredible Food

Next, you will see food, because Quebec is famous for its delicious, French-inspired fare. We dined on outdoor patios almost every meal, and our little traveling toddler enjoyed the al fresco meals, too.

Chateau Frontenac is Like a Castle

Third, Chateau Frontenac features prominently in many of these pictures, because the fancy hotel reminds me of a fairy castle, and makes a gal happy to look at.

Finally, these photos show fun. From river-side walking paths, to fresh markets, to joyful public art, Quebec City made our family smile with its color and joie de vivre. Despite the fact that I was in my first trimester of pregnancy during the trip and nauseous as heck, I still had a good time, and that says a lot!
