Delicious Food of Mont Tremblant in Quebec, Canada

Want to put a smile on your face and a growl in your tummy? Come ogle the delicious, decorative food we found in the Canadian village of Mont Tremblant, Quebec!

As you may have already seen in my previous article giving the scoop on Mont Tremblant, the town is nestled tranquilly in the mountains. Winter features skiing, and summer is about family fun, but year-round, the destination boasts a shockingly world-class culinary scene.

When our family (husband, toddler, and me with my pregnant belly) visited during the summer season, we fell in love with the Asian restaurant, “O Wok.” Sitting in the sun-dappled patio in back, we feasted upon scrumptious food draped in tropical flowers. Just look at that presentation in the photo above!

Next up, we had the first poutine of our lives in an excellent restaurant called La Forge. Poutine, for those who yearn to know, is french fries, cheese curds, and gravy. You will be full and happy for weeks following consuming this dish! At La Forge, we opted to add ground beef to the poutine, which may infuriate some poutine purists, but my pregnant belly was calling the shots. I remain innocent.

Besides the deliciousness of the food, a perk of eating anywhere in Mont Tremblant is the location. La Forge, for example, has a huge open-air patio which looks out on the center of the village, meaning we could watch live blues performances while we ate. Meanwhile, in the other direction sits the heavenly green mountain pictured below: Tremblant itself!

Now, the concept of “vacation” is closely linked in my mind — and perhaps yours, too — with the concept of “dessert” and “treats.” Thus, let us rejoice that Mont Tremblant also features a fine array of ice cream and sweet shops. Sorry that I can’t recommend a specific store, as we deliriously lurched from one to another the entire time, snacking steadily.

In addition to the whimsical and brightly colored food to eat in Mont Tremblant, note that the architecture of the town echoes this fun flair. As no cars are allowed in the mountain-side village, outdoor patios abound in summer, and the jolly colors and shapes of the buildings add to the aura of cheer and ease.

As is fitting for a mountain village, nature is woven throughout the town. Just as Quebec City is draped in flowers in summer, so is Mont Tremblant, with leafy trees and bushes rounding out the scene.

Feeling full after so much luscious food? Nature walks are just a gondola ride up the mountain, as is a dramatic Birds of Prey show. (Do not eat the birds.) There’s also a mountain-top eatery, though we were so satisfied by the time we reached the summit that we didn’t buy anything there except for milk for our ravenous traveling toddler.

A reminder: Do not ignore the food on offer at Mont Tremblant’s many hotels. We had a host of delectable meals at the Fairmont Tremblant (where we stayed), prefaced by these sweet squares of maple candy that the staff kindly left on our bed! I pulled the “Pregnant Privilege” card and ate three of the four squares, thank you very much.
