Give Me an Easy, Free Birthday Gift With a Big Impact!

Me with the Shanghai skyline, slightly less 30 than today.

Tomorrow is my 30th birthday!

Want to make me REALLY, REALLY happy with a free gift? Here’s what I most desire:

1. Show some love to my two websites, AroundTheWorldL.com and TeachingTraveling.com by: reading, commenting on, and reposting/sharing/emailing articles, “Liking” the Facebook pages (currently near 1,400 fans!) and using the “suggest to friends” button, “Stumbling” articles (if you’re advanced like that), and generally bringing as many eyes as possible to these 500+ articles I spend so much time and passion creating.

(On a happy side note, several articles, including the one about a certain vegetarian eating pig tails and other intense meats in China have gone viral recently with over 2,000 views in a day! Let’s have more of that fame, pretty please.)

Doesn't Shanghai have amazing buildings?

2. Between now and October 18, tell EVERYONE you know about the “Meet, Plan, Go!” career-break travel conference which is happening on 10/18/11 in 17 cities around North America. This is an event where people who dream of traveling for longer than a month can meet travel experts to help make their extended travel dreams come true. I coordinate the Boston MPG event (click here for the page to get tickets!) and I can tell you: this event changes lives.

By reposting this link about “Meet, Plan, Go!” on your Facebook wall or emailing it to friends, you are not only giving me a very kind birthday gift, but you could be taking the action that at last makes someone’s stymied travel dreams come true.

Very reasonable gift wishes, right? :) Thanks for another amazing year of reading, writing, learning, teaching, meeting, sharing ideas, and traveling. With your help, may there be many more!
