Quebec City is a Perfect Vacation…
It’s freezing rain in Boston right now, and I’m seized with an urge to write a new article about the best place our family traveled last year: Quebec City, Canada during the summer! In this article, I’ve compiled 31 of my most beautiful photos from Old Quebec for your escapist pleasure.

Old Quebec does flower boxes so well!
Charming Flowers in Summer
Quebec City is a destination that epitomizes the word “charming.” It is worth at least three days of unstructured wandering and restaurant-hopping through its cobblestoned streets, should you be wise enough to schedule a visit.

Chateau Frontenac is the glamorous heart of the city.
Flowers, Frontenac, Food, and Fun!
In these photos, you’ll see the four “Fs”. First, flowers abound in the city in summer, spilling out of window boxes in exuberant rainbow waterfalls. My all-time favorite Quebec flower photo is below, captured after I asked my husband one too many times to pose for me. Bwhaha! (He would have looked even more epic if we’d made a flower crown of those orange things.)

Colin was not excited about posing with the pretty flowers AGAIN. Hehe.
Quebec City Restaurants: Incredible Food
Next, you will see food, because Quebec is famous for its delicious, French-inspired fare. We dined on outdoor patios almost every meal, and our little traveling toddler enjoyed the al fresco meals, too.

Dining al fresco is the thing to do during a Quebec summer. Our little guy loved it, too!
Chateau Frontenac is Like a Castle
Third, Chateau Frontenac features prominently in many of these pictures, because the fancy hotel reminds me of a fairy castle, and makes a gal happy to look at.
Paired with Old Quebec’s historic 17th century buildings (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), it’s all a romantic feast for the eyes. Want to sleep inside this castle? Click to see current deals on this remarkable hotel, as it’s surprisingly affordable!

Isn’t Old Quebec like a fairy tale land?
Fresh Food Markets of Canada
Finally, these photos show fun. From river-side walking paths, to fresh markets, to joyful public art, Quebec City made our family smile with its color and joie de vivre. Despite the fact that I was in my first trimester of pregnancy during the trip and nauseous as heck, I still had a good time, and that says a lot!

Photos for Quebec Travel Inspiration
Without further ado, let us explore Quebec City through some more luscious photographs! I’m curious to find out: Which ones call out to you the most? Which surprise you? Which make you want to find that exact spot and sip an espresso in front of its glory? Let’s see!

Hi!
I come from Quebec city! Thank you so much for the good words about my city! I you ever want to come back... during the winter, at Christmas time is the perfect choice! Every shop, every corner is decorated with lights! You can even visit the Chateau Frontenac ... it is very special when they decorate for Christmas.

Wow! Thank you for your article and awesome photos. Your family are so sweet. As for me, Quebec is a favourite city among others. We travelled there with my gf about 8 months ago. Quebec is one of North America’s oldest and most magnificent settlements. The city’s compact size makes it ideal for walking, and it shines brightest when you slow down. There’s more than a glimmer of Old Europe in its classic bistros, sidewalk cafes and manicured squares. I think Quebec must be in everyone's bucket list.
