Don't Miss Boston's Arboretum in Spring: Flower Heaven!

No visit to Boston in our glorious springtime is complete without strolling through the Arnold Arboretum. This sprawling, lush park was established in 1872, and is owned by Harvard University. Just hop off the Orange Line train at the Forest Hills "T" stop, and you're there!
Skip along with me, now, as we ogle the rainbow colors of May in the Arboretum: the arguable crown jewel of Boston's Emerald Necklace park system.

Whether or not you got to see these flowers in person on Lilac Sunday for Mother's Day, I hope these photos can bring you a taste of the fragrance from the comfort of your own couch!

Gorgeous, eh? So which of these blooms would you most yearn to take home?

Those lilacs are beautiful! Lilacs always remind me of my maternal grandmother and peonies always remind me of my paternal grandmother. It's funny how certain flowers can bring back memories.
How gorgeous! I'm a huge sucker for anything park or garden related. The Boston Arboretum looks like such a lovely place to sit down for a picnic or read a book.
I admit I have never been to an arboretum. Yikes! Gotta fill this gap in soon. The flowers are so lovely!
Beautiful flowers. :) I love the purple ones. You're doing very good in taking these photos. Wow, pretty impressive.
We grew up in Nottingham where we used to enjoy visiting the Arboretum. Over in Gran Canaria, we're crazy for spring. For it's when the almond trees blossom.
Oooh-- almond trees! Romantic...
Beautiful shots! I've only been to Boston in the fall, but I would love to return in the spring to see this :)
Went to the Arboretum last fall for the first time and actually wrote a post about it too! It's just as spectacular then with all the leaves changing colors.
Spring and autumn: The glory months of New England!
