But what is the most luxurious toilet of China?
Easy. Just go to Shanghai and travel about 1,000 feet… straight UP!
The Cloud 9 Bar and Grill is on the 87th floor of the Grand Hyatt Hotel of Shanghai, and is one of the highest-up and most beautiful bars on Earth.
It also has one of the best bathrooms in the world.
“What’s so special about this toilet you keep talking about?” I asked my friend Gareth as we twisted and turned in the confusing first floor lobby of the Grand Hyatt. “Isn’t this building already amazing, without bringing in mention of bathrooms?”
“Just wait until you see them,” Gareth said with a knowing smile.
We boarded the elevator and zipped upward 87 floors so fast, our ears popped twice. The doors slid open, and my eyes were enchanted with the most beautiful 365-degree view I have ever seen.
“Oooo!” I squealed, running from window to window to gaze down at the beauty of Shanghai, sparkling so far below. The height and the glory were intoxicating! Something about the scene made me feel like Batman.
We ordered the cheapest things on the menu, for which we were charged perhaps the highest price in China.
But the view was worth the price…
…and the fun had just begun.
After drinking my soda, I needed to use the restroom. Yay! It was time to see what all the fuss was about!
I sauntered into the famous bathroom. It looked pretty, but nothing so speci— wait a minute… what was that control panel next to the toilet?!
I looked closer at the buttons… then started laughing hysterically. Examine the resulting photo, below. :)

This toilet is awesome! I wish I had one in my house. It has so many settings... for a toilet.

Thrilling development: This very same restaurant was featured in the new James Bond movie, "Skyfall!!!!" Maybe Bond used the same crazy toilet as we did???
